Mitcham earned her Bachelor of Science in Zoology at the University of Georgia in Athens in 1994. She then completed her Masters of Medical Science through the Physician Assistant Program at
Emory University in Atlanta in 1997. She is licensed by the State of Georgia and certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants. Since graduating, she
has held several positions as Physician Assistant including General Surgery, Peripheral Vascular Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Surgical Oncology. She has 11 years of experience in
arterial and vein surgery including radio frequency ablations and sclerotherapy.
When she is not working she enjoys running, cycling, reading and gardening. She and her husband live on a cattle farm in Warm Springs, Georgia.
